One for all you chemistry lovers out there!

Lithium

Friday morning, after a slow week

Ready with chemical reagents

and a syringe

My hands move with more care than normal

Fine motors operating, charging

the round-bottomed

flask with a water-free solution

of diphenylacetic acid

Pro-mixture, that

stirs and receives butyllithium

Lithium carboxylate forms first

Then, the yellow

appears, deepens in colour, as I

know C-H becomes C-Lithium

Now, it’s teatime
