Eleutherobia

Here is a short poem based on a molecule that I worked on in Texas.

Eleutherobia

A genus of soft, red coral. Motionless

resident in deep Indian waters

Eleutherobin hides there in secret

Coral machines churn out rarities such as

Eleutherobin, anti-cancer drug

Diterpene architecture of the sea

A chemist strives to replicate the machines

Eleutherobin is lab-assembled

Starting with carvone, found in spearmint oil

How many more secrets does coral keep?
