Belief

At the summit of cat bells

I saw your soul and essence

It was generous patience

and supportive dignity

Your help was sovereign; and

belief in sovereignty

was in your blood and your proud

use of

a kind liberty

Your peace wed Derwent Water

On the nuptial rim, trees were

turrets of thanks for your love

or how you blessed, I infer

these legends mapped your person

my dear dad of forgiveness

I needed your example

and your

heady hopefulness
