This poem came about thanks to a helpful conversation with my daughter Rosie (thanks) x



Elusive

In a more fertile land

the pesticides

are not hazardous

In a wiser country

the pesticides

decay with goodwill

In a smarter lab

new pesticides

have shorter lifetimes

This situation reminds me of Gatsby’s elusive dream
