Here is a villanelle I wrote that has attracted some interested from a musician and an orchestra (I hope to share more news on this later..)

Across the sea to Hastings

The roaring surf, so alive, distended Deep green colour swirls, a seascape background To a scene of cobalt blue, amended Seven hundred ships, their journey ended Moving parts in an Anglo-Norman play The roaring surf, so alive, distended William’s men beaching, a still descended glances back over watery shoulders To a scene of cobalt blue, amended Ocean-going hearts broken then mended White-tipped teal, delivery to battle The roaring surf, so alive, distended To build a Hastings castle, extended forts of wood in Pevensey, all tributes To a scene of cobalt blue, amended Out on the horizon, still suspended Live memories and home and soundlessness The roaring surf, so alive, distended (To a scene of cobalt blue, amended)
