A tribute to Marlborough

a native is drawn

back to native gold

caches in pastures

down in the deep gap enclosed by perfume films of lit sap green glow in sepia holding a photo infused with sight and joy and native wit knowing stars can yaw, leap and swoon on the mound by the college near the kennet’s bank on treacle bolly padded leaves seem like queens in red-brick gowns resting as market- stalls sing to the world the native can pray under a forest’s veil. The jewel of Wiltshire that emits xanthene rays in some yellow rinsed dreams in zig zag journeys home

Abecedarians are poems in which the first letter of each line or stanza follows the alphabet: A, then B, and so on. I have employed an extra constraint here as well; each line contains five syllables.
