Gift

We walked to loweswater’s shore

The perimeter and all its contents

Bluish, soaked

In dark celeste, early evening light

Azure, like the hawker dragonfly

I imagined its pigment offered

As a sacrifice to God, rinsed

Here, In His water, also colouring

His spectrum

We saw Golden coats on the mountain

The slumbering sun danced in the fields

He suspended the rain, for our joy
