The barber shop pole lighthouse frames the right

It stands proud guarding the blue-grey canvas

Sky that shows comfort blanket-cloud, airtight,

with no weakness, on the left. Its status

one of grandness, but the sea is alight

with a peace that reaches in to warm us

The picture that a Plymouth pupil sees

Ships refuse to bob, unmoved, in the breeze
